01 — Acceptance

Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using any EPIC Alliance service — including EPIC Compass and EPIC Connect — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

By accessing your EPIC Compass report or creating an account on EPIC Connect, you agree to these Terms. Acceptance is confirmed by a mandatory checkbox at the Compass email gate and by the statement displayed at EPIC Connect account creation: "By creating an account you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy." If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (acting on behalf of your organisation, where applicable) and EPIC Alliance, operated by Cristelle Bretnacher, Luxembourg ("EPIC Alliance", "we", "us", "our").

02 — Services

Our services

EPIC Alliance currently operates two services:

Compass

EPIC Compass

A stage-calibrated organisational leadership assessment covering 51 key performance indicators across four pillars (Execution, People, Innovate, Capital). EPIC Compass generates a maturity report that reflects the self-reported state of an organisation at a point in time. Access to the Compass report requires acceptance of these terms and provision of a valid email address.

Connect

EPIC Connect

An investor visibility platform where organisations with an active account may choose to share their EPIC profile and assessment scores with a vetted network of investors. Visibility is off by default and requires explicit activation by the organisation. EPIC Connect also provides a persistent dashboard for managing assessment history and organisational profile data.

A third service, EPIC Academy (leadership certification), is in development and will be governed by separate terms when launched.

03 — Account

Your account and responsibilities

  • 1 You must provide a valid email address to access EPIC Compass and to create an account on EPIC Connect. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • 2 You represent that you are at least 18 years old and, where applicable, are authorised to act on behalf of the organisation whose data you submit.
  • 3 You are responsible for the accuracy of all information you submit, including assessment responses, organisation profile data, and contact details. EPIC Alliance does not independently verify the information you provide.
  • 4 You must not share your account credentials or magic link with third parties. Each account is personal to the registered organisation.
  • 5 You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting team@epic-alliance.io. See Section 10 for details.

04 — Intellectual Property

Intellectual property

The following are the exclusive intellectual property of EPIC Alliance and Cristelle Bretnacher, protected under applicable Luxembourg and international intellectual property law:

  • The EPIC framework (Execution · People · Innovate · Capital)
  • The 51 KPI methodology and associated scoring rubrics
  • The maturity stage model (Pre-Seed through Licorne)
  • All assessment questions, weighting algorithms, and pillar logic
  • The EPIC Compass report format, design, and narrative structure
  • All EPIC Alliance brand assets, trademarks, and visual identity

Your licence: Subject to your compliance with these terms, EPIC Alliance grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and view your own EPIC Compass report for your internal organisational use only. This licence does not include any right to reproduce, distribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit any EPIC content.

Your data remains yours. EPIC Alliance does not claim ownership over the specific answers or organisational information you submit. We use it solely to generate your report and, with your separate consent, to produce anonymised benchmark intelligence. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

05 — Acceptable Use

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • 1 Scrape, crawl, mirror, or systematically extract any content from EPIC Alliance services, including assessment questions, scoring logic, or report output.
  • 2 Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the underlying methodology, algorithms, or weighting logic of the EPIC framework.
  • 3 Use any EPIC output, data, or content for commercial purposes — including resale, redistribution, or incorporation into paid products — without prior written authorisation from EPIC Alliance.
  • 4 Submit false, misleading, or fabricated assessment responses, or impersonate another organisation.
  • 5 Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security feature, authentication mechanism, or access control of our services.
  • 6 Use our services in any way that violates applicable law, regulation, or the rights of third parties.

Violation of this section may result in immediate suspension of access and, where appropriate, legal action.

06 — Benchmark Programme

Benchmark programme

EPIC Alliance operates an optional benchmark programme through which anonymised, aggregated assessment data is compiled into market intelligence reports that may be produced and sold commercially.

Key terms governing benchmark participation:

  • 1 Voluntary: Participation is entirely optional. Consent is collected via a separate, unchecked checkbox at the Compass email gate. Declining does not affect access to any service feature.
  • 2 Anonymised only: EPIC Alliance will never publish or sell data that identifies an individual organisation. All benchmark outputs are aggregated across multiple organisations and fully anonymised.
  • 3 Commercial use: EPIC Alliance reserves the right to produce, license, and sell benchmark reports using consented, anonymised data. This is a separate commercial activity from the Compass assessment service.
  • 4 Withdrawal: You may withdraw benchmark consent at any time by contacting team@epic-alliance.io. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing. See our Privacy Policy §9 for details.

07 — Disclaimer

Disclaimer of warranties

EPIC Compass is a decision-support instrument. The assessment generates a maturity score based entirely on self-reported answers provided by your organisation. Results reflect your organisation's self-assessed state at a specific point in time.

The EPIC Compass report does not constitute:

  • A guarantee or prediction of investment readiness
  • A warranty of funding outcome or likelihood of raising capital
  • A certification of business viability or performance
  • Legal, financial, or professional advice of any kind

EPIC Alliance makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of the assessment results for any particular business decision. You rely on the report at your own discretion.

Investment decisions involve many factors beyond an organisational assessment. EPIC scores should be used as one input among many — not as the sole basis for investment or strategic decisions.

08 — Liability

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Luxembourg law, EPIC Alliance, its operators, and its personnel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — any EPIC Alliance service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of business, revenue, or anticipated savings
  • Loss of data or corruption of assessment records
  • Reliance on assessment results for investment, funding, or business decisions
  • Interruption or unavailability of the service

EPIC Compass is provided as-is to organisations. Where a court of competent jurisdiction does not permit the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of consequential damages, the foregoing limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, to the extent such exclusion is not permitted under Luxembourg law.

09 — Investor Access

Investor access conditions

Access to the EPIC Connect investor interface is currently available exclusively to investor organisations admitted through a formal partnership request. Individual investor accounts are not yet open to self-registration.

Investor accounts are created manually by EPIC Alliance following a vetting process. Investors accessing organisation data through EPIC Connect:

  • May only access profiles of organisations that have explicitly activated investor visibility (opt_in = true).
  • May not reproduce, export, or commercially exploit organisation profile data outside the EPIC Connect platform without the written consent of the organisation and EPIC Alliance.
  • Are bound by any additional terms communicated at the time of account creation.

Individual investor self-registration is planned for a future release. These terms will be updated accordingly.

10 — Termination

Termination and account deletion

By you: You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by sending an email to team@epic-alliance.io. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm completion. Assessment data, profile data, and your email address will be permanently deleted, subject to the retention rules described in our Privacy Policy §4.

By EPIC Alliance: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have violated these terms, are engaged in fraudulent activity, or are using the service in a manner harmful to EPIC Alliance, other users, or third parties. We will notify you of any such action where legally permissible.

Sections 4 (Intellectual Property), 7 (Disclaimer), 8 (Limitation of Liability), and 12 (Governing Law) survive termination of these terms.

11 — Jurisdiction

Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms — including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination — shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Luxembourg City, unless mandatory consumer protection law applicable in your country of residence requires otherwise.

12 — Updates

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in our services, applicable law, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at the address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of EPIC Alliance services following the effective date of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of those terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you must stop using the services and may request account deletion at team@epic-alliance.io.

Non-material changes (corrections, clarifications) will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date, without individual notification.
